(Update Dec. 11, 2024: Giving Tuesday is over but this fundraising endeavor is going on through February 2025)

I’ve done more marketing this past week than at any other point in my writing career and I’m ready to get back to my regular shitposting and occasionally remembering I run a small business.

But just one more thing.

This Giving Tuesday I’m gently nudging you in the direction of the NC Indie Authors website. There you can choose to donate at least $10 to one of 10 nonprofits doing relief work in western North Carolina.

After you donate, come back to the NC Indies website and upload your receipt to gain access our charity anthology To Appalachia with Love.

Chasing Ember

After Hurricane Helene decimated Asheville and the surrounding ares along the Blue Ridge Mountains I was paralyzed with overwhelm. But a few members of the NC Indies Discord community sprang into action pulling together their collective knowledge to organize the creation of To Appalachia with Love, a collection of charity anthologies.

Chasing Ember is a short story that I cobbled together from large chunks of an abandoned project and you can read it in the romance and contemporary fiction anthologies.

Singer-songwriter Jackson Hunter returned to the Blue Ridge Mountains to recapture the magic that inspired the angsty music of his youth. Yoga studio owner Siena Chase just needed a break from her entrepreneurship struggles. When a runaway mutt breaks free from her leash, she sets these two humans down a path headed for a little change and a little more love.

This was an all volunteer endevor and none of the authors get a cent in royalties from the project. All donations are made directly to the foundations.

Thank you so much for supporting the people and businesses of Appalachia through your donations. Please share this post and encourage your friends to donate too.
