Hi, I’m Ariella (she/her) and I’m a disgruntled millennial who is just trying to carve out a path in this wild world using the creative talents I was lucky (or unlucky) enough to be born with.

I specialize in a few things that don’t necessarily have an obvious connection. I’m sure it makes the “pick a niche” business coaches twitch, but ADHD people like me aren’t exactly known for our ability to stick with a thing for very long.

Back in the 90s I wrote some X-Files and Sliders fanfic before home computers could regularly connect to the internet. Back then I wanted to be a screenwriter, but ultimately gave up pursuing creative writing in any capacity at the tender age of 16. It was far too terrifying to put my imagination out there so strangers could tear it to shreds.

I went into nonfiction instead because objective truth used to mean something.

Since graduating in 2006 with a (now-obsolete) Masters in Publishing I’ve worked as a newspaper journalist, website content writer, and SEO blogger. I became a stay at home mom when my son was born in 2016 and by 2021 my brain was screaming for a creative outlet. I began to dabble in creative writing again, this time putting myself out there and sharing my work publicly.

While doing all of these writer things, I was also an avid yoga practitioner. I stepped on a mat in 2007 and never got off. I found a form of joyful movement that resonated with me physically and spiritually. I became a certified yoga instructor in January 2019 and have fostered a reputation for working with beginners and people with injuries and chronic illness.

I see reflections of myself in many spaces, but not all. And my hope is that my work becomes a place where others can see parts of themselves, too.
